WATCH: Memphis' Shaq Goodwin does Vince Carter's elbow dunk
Welcome to the best -- and most controversial -- highlight of Memphis' season so far.
Welcome to the best -- and most controversial -- highlight of Memphis' season so far.
Senior Tiger Shaq Goodwin decided to pay homage to legendary dunker Vince Carter on Saturday -- and did it during a game. The result is a sweet dunk, a technical foul, and a celebration with teammates that Tigers coach Josh Pastner can't be too happy about.
Witness Goodwin as he gets the ball in transition and opts to not just dunk the ball, but to inject his forearm through the top of the rim and quickly hang on the iron in the process.

The play, as you can hear, brought immediate criticism from the announcing crew. Tulane's fans weren't happy. And Pastner is by no means about this kind of display. Worse yet, this flashy move came in a game Memphis wound up losing. Tulane (now just 10-16) knocked off the Tigers 94-87 in overtime.
Here's the Carter version. Great timing here, as Saturday night will also see the return of the NBA's annual dunk contest.
