LSU @ Texas A&M

What to Know
The Texas A&M Aggies have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the LSU Tigers and are hoping to record their first win since Feb. 4 of 2017. A&M and LSU will face off in an SEC battle at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday at Reed Arena. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
The point spread favored the Aggies this past Saturday, but luck did not. It was close but no cigar for A&M as they fell 70-66 to the Missouri Tigers. A&M's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of guard Quenton Jackson, who had 17 points in addition to six rebounds, and guard Hayden Hefner, who shot 5-for-6 from downtown and finished with 17 points. Hefner had some trouble finding his footing against the Tennessee Volunteers last week, so this was a step in the right direction. Hefner's points were the most he has had all season.
Meanwhile, LSU came up short against the Vanderbilt Commodores this past Saturday, falling 75-66. Guard Brandon Murray wasn't much of a difference maker for LSU; Murray played for 36 minutes but put up just nine points.
The losses put the Aggies at 15-8 and LSU at 16-7. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: A&M enters the contest with 17.9 takeaways on average, good for seventh best in college basketball. But LSU is even better: they rank sixth in college basketball when it comes to takeaways, with 18 on average. We'll see if that edge gives LSU a route to victory.
