LOOK: Mississippi State 'passes the harness' to new mascot Bully XXI
The Bulldogs have a new bulldog!
Oh sure, if you're a Mississippi State fan it was probably interesting to watch Dak Prescott complete 20-of-29 passes for a bunch of yards and three touchdowns while getting a first look at the Bulldogs' next generation of defensive stars. But we also know only one development from Saturday's spring game was really important: the "passing of the harness," if you will, from previous Bulldogs mascot Bully XX to his son, Bully XXI.
Via @HailState, here's Jak -- named for late legendary Mississippi State broadcaster Jack Cristil -- officially taking over mascot duties from his father, Champ:

Champ looks pretty happy to enter into what the Bulldogs announced would be an "official full retirement" at the age of 10. Given all that Mississippi State accomplished on the football field under Champ's reign -- 10-2 regular seasons and Orange Bowl berths haven't usually grown on trees on Starkville -- Jak's got a lot to live up to.
