Ryan had his contract selected by the Angels on Wednesday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.
Ryan's whirlwind stay with the Angels' organization continued Wednesday with him being added back to the major league roster after being DFA'd and outrighted over the last week. He'll take the spot of Cliff Pennington, who was placed on the DL on Wednesday just days after returning from a hamstring injury. Ryan figures to add depth up the middle for the Angels and he can play some third base as well, but he's unlikely to lock down an everyday role.
