Cardinals' Scott Hurst: Contract selected by Cardinals

Hurst's contract was selected by the Cardinals on Thursday.

Hurst was selected by St. Louis with the 94th overall pick in the 2017 first-year player draft. He'll now serve as outfield depth, with his major-league debut likely on tap after Lane Thomas was optioned to the alternate training site in a corresponding move. Hurst appeared in 108 minor-league games in 2019, slashing .217/.287/.299 with five home runs and 33 RBI.
