Cubs' Riley Martin: Added to 40-man roster

The Cubs selected Martin's contract from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday.

Martin, a 27-year-old southpaw, logged a 2.69 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 80:35 K:BB in 63.2 innings across 47 appearances at Triple-A in 2025. In addition to a high strikeout rate (30.7 percent), Martin logged a 52.1 percent groundball rate along with six wins and four saves. He could figure into the big-league bullpen mix early in 2026.
