Phillies' Jake Newberry: Set to join Phillies camp

Newberry signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Tuesday which contains an invitation to spring training.

Newberry made four relief appearances for the Royals in 2021, allowing eight runs in 4.1 innings. He's thrown 70.2 total major-league innings, posting an unimpressive 4.84 ERA, with a 12.7 percent walk rate highlighting his poor control.
