Red Sox's Matt Hall: Booted from 40-man roster

Hall was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Friday.

With Friday being the final day to protect players from the Rule 5 draft, the Red Sox needed to clear some 40-man roster spots and Hall was a casualty. The 27-year-old reliever has an 11.48 ERA in 40 MLB innings.
