Royals' John McMillon: Departs 40-man roster

The Royals designated McMillon for assignment Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

McMillon will surrender his spot on the 40-man roster for Paul DeJong, who Kansas City acquired via trade Tuesday. McMillon has logged a 6.53 ERA in 30.1 appearances at Triple-A Omaha, and assuming he goes unclaimed, he should remain in the Royals' organization.
