Islanders' Eric Boulton: Placed on IR

Boulton (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

There's no indication as to the nature of Boulton's injury, as he has only played one game this season, and that was on Dec. 12. The move was made retroactive to Jan. 2, meaning that Boulton can be activated as soon as Saturday, but it's unclear as to when Boulton may be able to return.
