On Wednesday, the quarterfinals of the 2015 US Open will wrap up and we'll be onto the semifinals of this year's final Grand Slam. After surviving a test in the Round of 16 against John Isner, Roger Federer is back at it. In his quarterfinal match, No. 2 Federer will take on No. 12 Richard Gasquet. Federer, chasing his sixth US Open title, has beaten Gasquet 14 times in 16 chances. Both of Gasquet's wins came on clay, which doesn't bode well for him on Wednesday.
Live TV coverage of the quarterfinals will begin at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN. At 8 p.m. ET coverage will shift to ESPN2.
Federer vs. Gasquet is slated to begin around 8 p.m. ET.
Another intriguing match is No. 20 Victoria Azarenka vs. No. 2 Simona Halep. Don't let Azarenka's ranking fool you, she's currently playing like a top-five player. These two players might have the best shot at eventually knocking off Serena Williams, not to mention Azarenka has been -- by far -- the most entertaining player at the tournament to this point. The match, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET, is definitely worth watching.
Here is the complete singles schedule for Wednesday:
Arthur Ashe Stadium
No. 5 Petra Kvitova vs. No. 26 Flavia Pennetta (11 a.m. ET)
No. 20 Victoria Azarenka vs. No. 2 Simona Halep
No. 5 Stan Wawrinka vs. No. 15 Kevin Anderson
No. 12 Richard Gasquet vs. No. 2 Roger Federer (not before 8 p.m.)
