Randy Johnson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday along with Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio.

All four players posted elite numbers and created countless memories for baseball lovers throughout their careers, but only Johnson had the destinction of hitting a live bird with a pitch during a game.

That happened. Never forget.

It happened on March 24, 2001 in a spring-training game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants and we thought this occasion was as good a reason to recall that moment in sports history as any.
