Yankees infielder Brendan Ryan is OK after taking a liner to the hand during batting practice Tuesday, MLB.com reports.
Ryan was in the midst of an infield workout when he was hit in the palm by a batting-practice line drive. "It'll just be a bruise. Pretty scary," Ryan told MLB.com. "I was lucky. It could have been a much worse spot."
Ryan is expected to serve as the backup at shortstop this season.
