Corey Patterson released by Mariners

Outfielder Corey Patterson has been released by the Mariners.

Patterson signed with the club in late April, but didn't show enough to stick around. He was hitting just .175 in Triple-A Tacoma. Patterson had already been released by the Mets early in the year. He hasn't played in the majors since 2011.
