GIants place Brett Pill on the disabled list

Giants first baseman Brett Pill has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to March 22. He is recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Pill took ground balls and hit off a tee earlier this week, and he's not expected to miss much regular-season time. He will likely serve a reserve role once activated.
