Giants starting pitcher Tim Hudson (8-9) pitched just 2 1/3 innings Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and a pair of walks against the Dodgers.
The 40-year-old was expected to be on a short leash, and indeed that was the case, as he ended up throwing just 45 pitches. Considering the severe decline Hudson's gone through this year -- including his worst full-season ERA and WHIP since 2006 -- as well as the fact that his contract is up, this might well have been the final game of his MLB career.
