Mariners' Alex Liddi to move back to third base regularly
Alex Liddi will spend most of his time at third base this season after playing some first base and left field last year.
Seaettle Mariners manager Eric Wedge confirmed Sunday that infielder/outfielder Alex Liddi will spend most of his time at third base in 2013, according to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times.
Liddi, who also played first base and left field in 2012, could receive that playing time in Triple-A or the majors, though he'd likely back up Kyle Seager if he's carried on the team's 25-man major-league roster.
Making 126 plate appearances with the Mariners last year, Liddi hit .224/.278/.353 with three home runs during his age-23 season.
In his second season appearing at the Triple-A level, Liddi also hit .270/.325/.456 with 11 home runs in 323 plate appearances with Tacoma last year while making at least 20 appearances at first base and third base and in left field.
