Pirates first baseman/outfielder Corey Hart will not return in 2015. Hart has been out since the middle of June with shoulder and knee injuries. He had been on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis.
But the Pirates recalled Hart from the rehab stint but will not activate him from the 60-day disabled list. Instead, he will head home to Arizona and prepare for the 2016 campaign.
Brought in by the Pirates on a low-risk, one-year deal, Hart had a forgettable 2015 season. He registered just 54 at-bats, collecting 12 hits--including a double and two home runs--in 35 games. The oft-injured slugger hasn't played more than 70 games since 2012 with the Brewers.
