Rockies sign Brian Burres to minor-league deal

The Rockies signed pitcher Brian Burres to a minor-league deal Monday, MyCentralJersey.com reports.

Burres hasn't pitched in the majors since 2011, when he threw 14 innings over five appearances with the Pirates. He was 3-2 with a 1.64 ERA and 31:20 K:BB ratio in nine starts with Southern Maryland of the independent Atlantic League before joining on with the Rockies.
