The Blue Jays and Royals have discussed a trade involving Royals designated hitter Billy Butler and Blue Jays prospects, SportsNet reports.
Butler, who is scheduled to reach free agency after the 2014 season, hit .289/.374/.412 with 15 home runs and 82 RBI in 582 at-bats last season while playing all 162 games. He has missed just 11 games over the last five seasons.
