Royals pick up Maikel Cleto off waivers

The Royals claimed reliever Maikel Cleto off waivers from the Cardinals Sunday. To make room on the 40-man roster, Kansas City designated Quintin Berry for assignment. 

Cleto will be assigned to Triple-A Omaha. He appeared in one game for St. Louis and went 2 1/3 innings with five runs and five hits allowed. He also struck out five.
