Royals reliever Wade Davis got into a game for the first time in a week, as he had been dealing with a back injury. Davis pitched the eighth inning of Thursday's game against the Angels, but he showed apparent signs of rust.
He entered the game with the Royals leading 5-1. The right-hander allowed two runs on two hits over his inning of work. He escaped the inning with the lead still in tact, but Greg Holland was unable to make it last in the 7-6 loss.
Thursday's outing doubled Davis' run totals this season to four. His season ERA is still at a miniscule 0.96 mark.
