The Yankees continue to be cautious with infielder Brendan Ryan, who is dealing with back inflammation, and he could be held out until next week, MLB.com reports.

"We've been very careful, so why stop? They keep telling me to be patient. It's just something we're being very careful with since it's a back thing," Ryan said Wednesday.

Manager Joe Girardi predicted that "we'll have a player next week" with regards to Ryan's return. The infielder is 2 for 8 with one walk.
