  • Brewers' Andrew Barbosa: Signs minor league contract with Brewers

Barbosa signed a minor league contract with the Brewers on Monday that includes an invitation to spring training.

A 6-foot-8 southpaw, Barbosa has never reached the majors and is entering his age-29 season. He notched a 1.51 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 71 strikeouts in 71.2 innings across four levels of the Mets' minor league system last year. Look for him to spend the majority of the 2017 season serving as organizational depth at Double-A or Triple-A.
