Can't get enough Raptors superfan/rapper Drake? The NBA Awards show is all you
League to host its first awards show to announce the winners of major honors, such as MVP
On June 26, after an NBA champion has been crowned and a new No. 1 pick has been drafted, the league will host its first awards show, during which we'll learn the winners of major honors, such as MVP, Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, etc.
With all the talented players sure to be in attendance, it'll be a star-studded affair. And now, we have learned it will be even moreso, as it was announced that Toronto Raptors ambassador and rapper, Drake, will host the show.

From the Raptors' "Drake Night," and his presence at games, to his music played in arenas, and his friendships with players, Drake is a staple of league culture, so this decision makes plenty of sense.
I mean, he even has a song called "Trophies," so they won't have to worry about getting any wrap-up music together. Once the speeches start to run a little long, Drake can just start rapping. It'll move the show along, and everyone will get to see a free concert. It's a win-win.
