In Game 1 of the Wizards-Celtics series Sunday, Washington forward Markieff Morris went down with an ankle injury after landing awkwardly on the foot of Boston big man Al Horford. No matter how many times you dissect the video of the play, there's really no way of knowing whether it was a malicious attempt to take Morris down, or whether it was incidental contact. Unless you ask Horford himself, that is.

And that's exactly what Morris intends to do during Game 2 on Tuesday night.

"I'm not sure," Morris said of whether the incident that sidelined him early in the game was malicious on Horford's part. "I'm going to ask him, though. I looked at it a couple times. It's not really that pretty, so I couldn't really watch it too much."

Morris went straight up and straight down on his shot attempt and came down hard twisting his ankle. It warranted a foul call, and Morris went to the free-throw line when he was able to get up. But Horford, for his part, says he had no ill-intentions to take Morris out, and extending an olive branch of words wishing him well.

"I understand that he's frustrated," Horford told CSN. "One of my strengths is on defense and challenging shots. It was a tough break. I really feel bad for him. You don't want anybody to get hurt. He's a great player. I hope that he's able to play tomorrow."

Horford isn't the type to typically get into mid-game spats, but Morris sure is. He was tangled up with Paul Millsap in a war of words for much of the first round, and it even got physical. Although it didn't come to blows, Morris' physical history might suggest a beef between the two big men, regardless of Horford's answer Tuesday night.
