Did adidas take John Wall's logo from 'The Office'?
A fake logo from NBC's "The Office" looks suspiciously like John Wall's adidas logo.

This is a big year for John Wall. He made his first All-Star game and he even got his first signature shoe from adidas.
Since it his own signature line, adidas created a logo which is a stylized version of his initials. But did they really create it from scratch? According to the keen eye of an intrepid Reddit user, adidas may have stolen Wall's logo from an episode of NBC's The Office.
Sounds preposterous?

Doesn't WeyerHammer's logo look quite similar to Wall's logo?
This is surprising since as a Solecollector interview with adidas basketball designer Robbie Fuller points out, the logo went through a 1,000 different versions before Wall signed off on it.
The JW logo is obviously a first. How do the team come up with that branding?
A team of like five graphic designers just got going at it and taking inspirations off him and his style of play, the brand direction of where were at and want to go, and how we want to be a part of this guy’s story. I think this really felt like the right solution. It kind of blends all those things and then we make sure when we worked it into the shoe we put it into a pretty prominent place. So kind of aligning it with the branding and having it shelf out is just a good foundation for the range. This is the genre one, there will be a two, three, four, five, six, as he continues to excel and play so well on court. This is the first shoe and it makes sure anybody that walks into the store makes that connection with John Wall. We’re excited to continue to go into that in the future.
This of course must just be a crazy coincidence but does bring up an important question. Is John Wall a big fan of The Office?
