NBA Christmas betting preview

The NBA on Christmas Day slate begins with the New York Knicks hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers in a noon ET matchup. This potential Eastern Conference postseason preview pits the two betting favorites to win the East against one another, with the Knicks shortly removed from winning the third annual NBA Cup. The Knicks have the second-best record in the East at 20-9, and the Cavaliers are 17-14 following a 64-18 regular season last year. For NBA betting, the Knicks are 5.5-point favorites in the latest Christmas NBA odds at Fanatics Sportsbook.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs have seen plenty of one another over the last two weeks, with the two meeting for the third time over the last 12 days. The Spurs upset the Thunder in the NBA Cup semifinals on Dec. 13, and knocked off the reigning NBA champions again on Tuesday in a 130-110 final in San Antonio. Still, the Thunder are 9-point favorites at Fanatics when they meet in OKC on Christmas Day at 2 p.m. ET matchup of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander vs. Victor Wembanyama that could begin to mirror rivalries such as Stephen Curry and LeBron James as they continue through their NBA careers.

Speaking of Curry and James, it's no surprise their teams are in action on Christmas Day yet again. However, this year, they aren't going against one another as the Warriors (-8) host the Mavericks at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the Lakers (+2.5) hosting the Rockets at 8 p.m. ET. Nuggets (-3) vs. Timberwolves conclude the Christmas NBA slate in a 10:30 p.m. ET matchup. Click here to get started:
