Kevin Durant is no longer a member of the Thunder so the restaurant he co-owns in Oklahoma City is closing up shop. According to The Oklahoman, Kd's restaurant has closed and will re-open in the future under a different name:

Kevin Durant's Bricktown restaurant closed Sunday, but vows to open with a new theme after Labor Day, Hal Smith Restaurant Group said Monday.

"The concept will offer an updated atmosphere with a similar menu to what has been available at that location in the past," the restaurant group said in its announcement.

Durant partnered with Norman-based Hal Smith Restaurant Group to open the Kd's restaurant in 2013.

"It has been an honor -- and a lot of fun -- to partner with Kevin Durant at Kd's these last few years," Hal Smith, founder and CEO of the Oklahoma-based restaurant group said in a statement. "We wish him the very best as he takes a new direction in his career."

The Oklahoman also reports that Durant was a 25 percent owner in the restaurant but it is unclear if he still owns that ownership stake.

It is rather unsurprising that Kd's has decided to close. Durant is viewed by many in Oklahoma City as public enemy No. 1 as fans burned his jersey and took to social media to express their severe displeasure with his decision. The restaurant even got slammed on Yelp after Durant agreed to join the Warriors. So it just made good business sense for the Hal Smith Restaurant Group, just like the Thunder are doing, to move on from Durant.
