There have been questions about Michael Jordan's commitment to the Charlotte Bobcats but he's trying to put that noise to rest.

"I'm in it for the long haul," he told the Charlotte Observer.

Since Jordan became the primary owner of the Bobcats, taking over for Bob Johnson, the team has struggled greatly on the floor. However, the Bobcats have made some progress in corporate sponsorships.

Still, the Bobcats went 7-59 last season, setting a new mark for NBA futility. And to add insult to injury, they missed out on Anthony Davis.

But Jordan is committed, he says, to building a winner, telling the Observer he thinks the team can be a destination for NBA free agents.

“I also understand we’ve got to get our house in order, to make that attractive to people," Jordan said.

One other interesting note from the interview: Jordan is open to changing the team's name if "Hornets" becomes available. New Hornets owner, Tom Benson, has expressed interest in a new name for the team and if that were to happen, Jordan said he'd be interested in using the old franchise name.
