The Bulls have not looked good in two games without point guard Rajon Rondo, so Chicago fans will be pleased to hear that Rondo appears to be making an effort to play in Wedensday's Game 5 against the Celtics.

According to The Vertical's Shams Charania, Rondo is "preparing to attempt" to play, though no decision has been made either way.

Chicago looked dominant in the first two games of the series to take a 2-0 lead, but Rondo suffered a broken thumb in Game 2 and was forced to miss the next to games, allowing the Celtics to even the series at 2-2. Rondo said that doctors told him he would likely miss at least two weeks with the injury.

Bulls backup point guards Jerian Grant and Michael Carter-Williams have been downright awful trying to fill in for Rondo, which led the Bulls to announce that Isaiah Canaan would start Game 5 -- but who knows, maybe now it will be Rondo.

Game 5 tips off on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
