Patrick McCaw is now officially a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, as the Golden State Warriors decided not to match the two-year, $6 million offer sheet that McCaw signed with the Cavs last week, per ESPN. 

McCaw had the opportunity to, but decided not to re-sign with the Warriors as a restricted free agent over the offseason. They offered him a two-year, $5.2 million contract in October. Last week, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported that the Warriors planned to match any offer that McCaw would receive on the open market, but that didn't happen. 

The Cavaliers can still waive McCaw before Jan. 7 and not be responsible for paying the remainder of his contract. 

On Monday, McCaw discussed his decision to walk away from the Warriors with media members in his new NBA home of Cleveland, he will have an opportunity to make his Cavaliers debut on Wednesday night when Cleveland hosts the Miami Heat (7 p.m. ET -- Watch on FuboTV with the NBA League Pass extension), and he explained that it was a personal decision and not an indictment of Golden State as an organization.  

"I loved playing in Golden State," McCaw said. "My teammates, the coaches, it was nothing really -- nothing stands out to me to say 'I didn't want to go back.' I think it was just a personal thing. ... I think it was just time for me to move on. ... It was nothing against Golden State -- the front office, coaches, players, the environment -- it had nothing to do with any of that. It was just a personal thing, and I just wanted a new opportunity to move on. And I can't say any other thing but it was just all me. Nothing against Golden State or anything, I just wanted to move on."
