Stephen Curry on reaching 400 3-pointers: 'If I get to 399, I will chuck'
What does Steph possibly consider "chucking" to be?
As we've been tracking this entire season, Golden State Warriors golden god Stephen Curry has been making a push toward 400 made 3-pointers. This is significant because he set the NBA record last season at 286 makes from deep, so shattering his own NBA record with such an improbable round number like 400 is absurd. Curry is quite aware of the benchmark of 400 being a possibility and assuming he doesn't miss any games for rest or injury the rest of the season, he should get there.
Here's a fun twist on his quest to set ridiculous history. Curry told reporters on Monday that if he gets to 399 made 3-pointers, his mindset will be pretty simple. He's going to chuck. He wants to hit 400 3-pointers this season and getting to 399 means he's going to start putting up even more shots.
Stephen Curry: "If I get to 399 (three-pointers), I will chuck. That's the only thing I can guarantee."

Here's what I want to know: What does Steph consider "chucking" to be?
He's already set records for 3-point makes and 3-point takes this season. He's taken 823 3-point shots, which is 145 attempts more than the previous record of 678 by George McCloud in 1995-96. He takes 11.1 3-pointers per game, and a lot of them come at seemingly impossible angles and positions against the defense. If that's not chucking for him, what is? Is it just taking nothing but half court 3-point shots?
Since 1979-80 when the 3-point shot was implemented, 559 teams have failed to reach 400 made 3-pointers in a season. Curry surpassing what 559 teams couldn't do over the evolution of the 3-point shot is just an amazing and random stat to accomplish.
