WATCH: Spurs use giant oar to defend 7-3 Boban Marjanovic in practice
San Antonio center Boban Marjanovic is very tall.
Here's what enormous San Antonio Spurs center Boban Marjanovic's teammates had to say about him after meeting him at training camp, via the San Antonio Express-News' Jeff McDonald:
Rookie center Boban Marjanovic wanted a high five.
Marjanovic is 7-foot-3 with a 9-foot-7 standing reach. Mills barely cracks 6-foot in stilettos.
“He could put his hand all the way down, and it’s still a high five,” Mills said. “I’m like, ‘Not after practice.’”
…
“Usually, they give guys extra inches (on the roster),” guard Danny Green said. “But this guy, he’s a legit 7-3.”
…
For the first time in a while, the Spurs have a player for even Tim Duncan to look up to.
“They said he was big and I was like, ‘Oh all right,’” the 6-11 Duncan said. “But to see his size and the way he moves with that size, it’s impressive.”
So, how do the Spurs handle it when they want Marjanovic to get in some extra work after practice? They have ex-players on staff, but neither Ime Udoka or Becky Hammon is going to have much success affecting his shot.
The answer: a giant oar.

Can't say I've ever seen that before, so let's give the Spurs credit. The forward-thinking organization has figured out yet another way to innovate. Soon, every team in the league is going to have oars.
