What to Know

After a three-game homestand, the Brooklyn Nets will be on the road. They will take on the Portland Trail Blazers at 10 p.m. ET on Thursday at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter after having had a few days off. The Nets have some work to do to even out the 3-9 series between these two since January of 2016, but a win here would be a good start.

Brooklyn came up short against the Orlando Magic this past Saturday, falling 100-93. A silver lining for Brooklyn was the play of point guard David Duke, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Duke hadn't helped his team much against the Philadelphia 76ers last week, so this was a nice turnaround for him. Duke's points were the most he has had all year.

Meanwhile, Portland received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 111-97 to the New Orleans Pelicans. Point guard Damian Lillard did his best for Rip City, finishing with 39 points (a whopping 40% of their total) and seven dimes. The contest made it Dame's third in a row with at least 32 points.

The losses put Brooklyn at 21-9 and Portland at 13-19. The Nets don't typically stay down for long -- they're 8-0 after losses this season -- so the Trail Blazers (7-11 after losses) won't have an easy go of it.
