WATCH: Westbrook, Beverley reveal trash talk details from heated Game 5 exchange
They weren't discussing their favorite movies
Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley are two of the most intense players in the NBA, so it was no surprise when they got into a little war of words during the fourth quarter Tuesday in Game 5 between the Rockets and the Thunder.
Houston eliminated OKC 105-99, but not before Westbrook and Beverley went face to face and exchanged some not-so-pleasant words. You couldn't tell what they were saying to each other during the television broadcast (you could definitely see Westbrook making this awesome face), but the two guards revealed at least some of what was said during the exchange in the postgame press conference.
"[Russ] looked up and said, 'No one can guard me, I got 40 points.' I'm like, that's nice, you took 34 shots to get it," Beverley said. "I'm not out here trying to bash anybody. Men lie, women lie, but the numbers don't. Collectively, as a unit, we did a good job on him."

When it was Westbrook's turn to talk, he gave some more details about the scuffle.
"He was talking about how he was first team all-defense," Westbrook said. "But I didn't know what the hell he was talking about because I had 42 at the time. I don't know what he was talking about, maybe he was dreaming or some sh--, I don't know. Sorry, excuse my cuss word. But I don't know what he was talking about. I guess he want to be first team all-defense or something. Maybe he was dreaming about it. I don't know."

Great stuff from both sides. For the record, Beverley has never made the NBA All-Defensive first team, though he did make the second team in 2014.
This exchange just gives you a glimpse of what kind of trash talk goes on during an NBA game, particularly an elimination game in the playoffs. It would be great if they could mic up the entire court and get a live feed -- though it would probably have to be on a three-minute delay for editing purposes.
