There has been a bit of controversy in the past few days over carrying the basketball, as Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg complained that referees let Isaiah Thomas get away with it all the time.

That, however, is not the only carrying-related beef that has come about in recent weeks. Last month, Tim Hardaway proclaimed himself to be the true innovator of the crossover, saying that Allen Iverson simply carried the ball.

Now, to be fair, Hardaway certainly had a ridiculous crossover move, but you had to know Iverson wasn't going to just sit there and let that shot fly by. In a feature on Bleacher Report, Iverson had a strong response:

B/R: Did you hear what Tim Hardaway said about your crossover?

"I'm going to tell you this and I tell everybody this: Allen Iverson carried the basketball," Hardaway told NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper. "I had the original killer crossover and people are doing my move. They're not doing Allen Iverson's move. They're not doing nobody else's move. They're still trying to perfect my move as the killer crossover and it's my move, all right? That's the way it is. I brought a unique style to the game."

Iverson: Yeah, I heard about it.

B/R: Any response?

Iverson: I carried my crossover all the way into the Hall of Fame. So, there you go.

And boom goes the dynamite.

They don't call him The Answer for nothing.
