Lions WR Nate Burleson gets free pizzas for a year after accident
Nate Burleson has received a year's supply of free pizza after suffering a broken arm in a car accident caused by...pizza. True story.
Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson suffered a broken arm during a car accident last month. But this isn't your garden-variety automobile-related injury. Nope, Burleson was hurt while trying to save a pizza from sliding off the passenger seat of his car. This is a true story.
Thankfully, Burleson was fine (other than the arm). And he even posted photos of accident, including the perpetrating pizza.
Well, the story gets better: Burleson tweeted Sunday that the dark cloud of a broken arm has a pepperoni and cheese-filled silver lining: Free pizza for the year.
Huge S/O to Digiorno Pizza for the year supply of free pizza and the gifts! #ItsNotDeliveryItsDiGiorno… http://t.co/58H6F93luk

The letter from DiGiorno reads: "Hello Nate, We hope you are feeling better after your recent car accident and are on the road to recovery. DiGiorno Pizza understands the challenges that come with carry out and delivery pizza so we're sending you a gift along with a year supply of DiGorno pizza so you can skip carry out."
Meanwhile, Burleson hopes to return to the field when the Lions meet the Bears on Nov. 10. We'd suggest laying off the pizza diet unless the plan is to come back as a tight end.
