Coyotes forward Brett MacLean suffered 'cardiac emergency' Monday
Phoenix Coyotes forward Brett MacLean suffered what's been called a 'cardiac emergency' Monday night, the Coyotes announced.
Very scary news coming out of the Phoenix Coyotes organization Tuesday night as the club announced that forward Brett MacLean suffered what's been called a "cardiac emergency" during a hockey game in Owen Sound, Ontario.
The incident occurred Monday night.
Coyotes general manager Don Maloney addressed the situation in a team statement Tuesday evening.
“Brett was playing hockey last night in Owen Sound, Ontario, when he suffered a medical emergency,” said Maloney. “Brett received CPR on site and was taken to a local hospital by ambulance where he was treated. He was then transported via an air ambulance to Knight University Hospital in London, Ontario, where he was admitted to the cardiac ICU. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brett and his family. We request that everyone please respect their privacy at this time. We will provide an update on Brett's status when information is available.”
MacLean, 23, has appeared in 18 NHL games and scored two goals to go with five assists.
