LOOK: Blues goalie Brian Elliott's protective cup broken by shot
St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott is a lucky man. He took a heavy shot where the sun don't shine and it ended up breaking his protective cup. OUCH.

Take one look at the photo below and you will know that being a goaltender takes a special kind of crazy. St. Louis Blues netminder Brian Elliott is a lucky man after he took a heavy shot right to the groin. Goaltenders have specifically designed protective cups for just such an occasion, but even those can’t withstand every shot they take.
Elliott tweeted out a photo of the aftermath, which must have occurred during practice Friday. The puck broke his cup and judging by the damage, he might be lucky to still be walking right.
