Pascal Dupuis will be back in the Pittsburgh Penguins' lineup against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night for the first time since last November.

Dupuis was sidelined for the last five months of the 2014-15 season due to a blood clot issue and seemed to be ready to return to the ice for the start of this season. But just before the start of the regular season Dupuis was sidelined with an undisclosed lower body injury that was said to be unrelated to his blood clot issue.

The 36-year-old Dupuis has been limited to 55 games since the start of the 2013-14 season. Along with the blood clot issue a year ago, and his injury this season, he also missed the second half of the 2013-14 season because of a torn ACL.

He should be a welcome addition for the Penguins. When healthy, he is still a pretty solid defensive forward who can chip in some offense. His 2.09 points per 60 minutes during 5-on-5 play was 43rd among the 792 players that played at least 200 minutes between 2013-14 and 2014-15.

With Dupuis set to return on Thursday and free-agent acquisition Eric Fehr seemingly getting closer to making his debut, the Penguins' forward depth should be deeper than it has been in several years once everyonce is healthy.
