You probably won't see an "older" fight in the NHL this season than the one that took place early in the first period in Nashville on Monday night when 38-year-old Jarome Iginla dropped the gloves with 35-year-old Barret Jackman.

That is 73 combined years on the planet, 33 years in the NHL and 2,337 regular season games trying to punch each other.

It all started behind the play following a little pile-up in front of the Nashville net when Iginla bumped into Predators goalie Pekka Rinne.

Jackman immediately gave Iginla a little shove and from there the gloves were off.

These two guys have a little bit of history with one another in the NHL having fought two other time in their careers, with the first one coming back in 2006 (watch it here) when Iginla still played for Calgary and Jackman for St. Louis. They again fought last season (watch here). Iginla seems to have won all of them.

With 19 goals on the season entering play on Monday Iginla can still put the puck in the net. And as Jackman found out, he can still handle himself in a fight when he needs to.
