Copa America apologizes to Uruguay for playing wrong national anthem vs. Mexico
It wasn't a good start for the 15-time winners
Uruguay opened up its Copa America campaign on Sunday night against Mexico, and things weren't looking good before the match even started. Aside from not having Luis Suarez due to injury, the wrong national anthem played for Uruguay before the match. Seriously. The Chilean national anthem was played in place of the Uruguayan anthem, take a look.
As you can imagine, the reaction on Twitter was a mix of funny, sad and stunned.
Hearing that wasn't the Uruguayan national anthem. Uruguayan press not at all happy in the press box. Rightly so.

How disgraceful whoever played Chile's national anthem for Uruguay... I'd be pissed if I was from Uruguay... #CopaAmerica

Is it worse to have the wrong country's anthem played (like Uruguay), or have the Borat version of your anthem played (like Kazakhstan)?

Things even got a little nasty between the two fan bases.
URU fans upset at wrong anthem tried to tear tifo. We tried to bring it down and they continued to fight. Cont. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/emEeHR3fc7

(2/2) we tried talking to them. Tried calming them down. In the end we called security for everyone's safety. pic.twitter.com/TOdLSpEJeO

Officials from the Copa America quickly sent out a statement as to what happened, which helps nothing.
