Barcelona entered Sunday’s La Liga contest against Deportivo La Coruna riding a high wave after that wild comeback against PSG in the Champions League. The Catalan club entered having scored 17 goals in their last three matches, and against a 17th-place Deportivo La Coruna, it figured to be a walk in the park.

It was anything but that.

Depor pulled off a stunning 2-1 win at home, with the Blaugrana visitors dropping points at the top of the table. Barca entered in first with 60 points, one more than Real Madrid, with this match serving as a chance to remain atop La Liga table.

After Joselu opened the scoring for the hosts in the 40th minute, Barca’s Luis Suarez drew level immediately after the halftime break in the 46th minute.

But it was a 74th-minute goal from Alex Bergantinos that gave the hosts all three points.

It was quite the letdown for Barca. The team failed to create consistently in attack and just wasn’t sharp, with Lionel Messi hardly contributing.

Without the injured Neymar, it was Barca’s losing scoring output since Feb. 7.
