WWE Raw results, live recap, grades: Drew McIntyre beats Sami Zayn and leaves him to the wolves
Zayn confronted McIntyre but lost their match in the main event before a Bloodline beatdown

Monday was the penultimate episode of WWE Raw on USA Network. With the holidays looming, the episode was pre-taped on Dec. 16 in Boston.
In the main event, Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn ran back their clash from the return of Saturday Night's Main Event. As was the result the first time the two clashed, McIntyre emerged as the victor.
Unfortunately for Zayn, things got much worse after the conclusion of the match as McIntyre walked away as The Bloodline arrived to deliver a beating to Zayn. Even the intervention of Jey Uso couldn't stop what was coming and the show ended with Zayn suffering a beatdown at the hands of Solo Sikoa and his troops.
CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from TD Garden in Boston.
Drew McIntyre beats Sami Zayn and leaves him to the wolves
Drew McIntyre opened the show with another impassioned promo centered on the disrespect he felt from his colleagues in the locker room after losing to CM Punk inside Hell in a Cell. McIntyre didn't return to Scotland after the loss to recover, he said, but instead did so because a close family member passed away. The rest of the locker room would know that if they'd called to check on him, he said, and since they didn't, he would stop being a giver and would instead take whatever he wants.
Sami Zayn eventually interrupted McIntyre, saying that everyone in wrestling -- including the fans -- experience struggles and that what he and The Usos do has nothing to do with McIntyre. But if he can't let things go, he's happy to fight instead. This all led to a brawl where Jey Uso ran in to end things.
Drew McIntyre def. Sami Zayn via pinfall after a Claymore. After the match, Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline attacked. Jey Uso attempted to make the save but the numbers game caught up, with both Uso and Zayn receiving Samoan Spikes. McIntyre was still in the ring when The Bloodline arrived but gave the group a look before simply leaving the ring.
This felt like a bit of a punt of an episode on WWE's part. Things were slowly moved along and rehashing the Saturday Night Main Event match between Zayn and McIntyre didn't feel particularly impactful. The biggest bit of news was The Bloodline arriving to attack Zayn, continuing to push the story of the clash between the "OG Bloodline" and Sikoa's "New Bloodline." Even that didn't do much to make Monday night feel like "must-see television." Grade: B-
What else happened on WWE Raw?
- Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament – Iyo Sky def. Alba Fyre and Natalya via pinfall after a moonsault on Natalya. Sky was given the empty spot in the tournament after Pure Fusion Collective's attack on Kairi Sane last Monday. PFC's Sonya Deville confronted Adam Pearce to ask for the spot but was quickly shot down and informed Sky had been given the slot.
- Chad Gable def. Akira Tozawa via submission with an ankle lock. Gable refused to release the hold post-match until Otis jumped in the ring, forcing American Made to back down.
- New Day ran into Dominik Mysterio. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods thought they'd found a kindred spirit in Judgment Day's most hated member but Mysterio shot them down, saying even he didn't agree with what the pair had done to Big E. Later, New Day was booed so badly they didn't finish a promo and Kingston's mother refused to hug him during his "homecoming."
- Damian Priest def. Dominik Mysterio via disqualification. Mysterio angled for a match with Priest after Finn Balor and Liv Morgan had been arguing backstage. Mysterio suggested he had a larger plan, which turned out to be JD McDonagh running interference while dressed as Santa Claus to allow Balor to attack Priest until the War Raiders ran off Judgment Day.
- Dexter Lumis def. The Miz via disqualification. Shortly after the match began, Final Testament came to the ring to attack Lumis for the DQ. After the match, the group looked to continue their assault but the lights went out and The Wyatt Sicks surrounded the ring, leading to a brawl.
