WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Cody Rhodes beats Jey Uso, advances to King of the Ring final vs. Randy Orton
Plus, the Queen of the Ring final is set and a title match ended in a DQ
Cody Rhodes is once again closing in on a title shot. Rhodes took down one of his good friends and fellow former world titleholder Jey Uso in the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament on Monday. Rhodes will now take on Randy Orton at Night of Champions with a shot at a world title at SummerSlam on the line.
The pair of stars put on a spectacular main event match with a nice blend of classic wrestling moves before putting together some great storytelling at toward the end. Some of the highlights included Uso hitting a Cross Rhodes and Rhodes hitting a super Cody Cutter from the top rope.
The finish came after Uso a pair of super kicks followed by a spear. Uso was setting Rhodes up for the Uso Splash, but Rhodes rose to his feet, climbed to the top rope and caught a second super Cody Cutter. Rhodes then hit one more Cross Rhodes before securing the pin and win.
CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
