WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Seth Rollins defends United States title as more challengers enter the fray
Rollins beat Finn Balor to retain his title, but he has some very angry men gunning for the belt

Shortly before Raw kicked off on Monday night, WWE made the announcement to the previously non-title match between United States Champion Seth Rollins and Finn Balor would, in fact, see the belt put on the line. That was step one of a big push during Raw to keep Rollins and the U.S. title front and center.
Rollins found himself not only worrying about Balor's challenge, but also Bobby Lashley's focus on regaining the belt and Austin Theory displaying a new violent streak in pursuit of his own second reign with the title.
CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.
Seth Rollins retains U.S. title but remains in danger from all sides
Bobby Lashley def. Mustafa Ali via submission with the Hurt Lock. Lashley interrupted a Seth Rollins promo to open the show, telling Rollins he would not stop attacking until he got his United States title back. Rollins pointed out that Lashley had the match set last week when he accepted the open challenge but instead attacked Rollins beforehand. Ali interrupted Lashley, leading Lashley to vow to repeat his beatdown from the previous week.
Dolph Ziggler def. Austin Theory via disqualification after failing to listen to referee instructions that he stop attacking outside the ring. Theory was furious at Ziggler for wresting him like a kid and offering advice after Theory's failed Money in the Bank cash-in.
United States Championship – Seth Rollins (c) def. Finn Balor via pinfall. The Judgement Day made their way to the ring during the match, immediately getting involved before The O.C. ran out to make the save. In the chaos, Balor went to the top rope to hit the Coup de Grace but was shoved by AJ Styles as the referee was distracted. The two sides then brawled through the crowd as Rollins hit a stomp for the win. After the match, Theory ran into the ring and attacked Rollins, eventually hitting the champion with A-Town Down before continuing the attack outside the ring. The show ended as Theory hit Rollins with the title belt.
It's always refreshing when WWE expands beyond two or three individuals in a title picture. Rollins is a big name champion with big names chasing him. Theory got twisted into a more dangerous and interesting version of himself after his failed cash-in and now feels like a real threat as an individual. Beyond that, Lashley remains committed to trying to win his title back, violently dispatching anyone who gets in his way. And even Ali remains a threat to Rollins' reign. Balor was involved the past two weeks more to further his own story with he and Styles, but it served a purpose and put Rollins in added danger. Hard to be upset about any of this, honestly. Grade: A-
