WWE Raw results, recap, grades: The Usos reunite and face doubts about Sami Zayn's actions
The Usos reunited but Jey Uso may have lost an ally in Zayn
The multi-year saga of The Bloodline took another twist on Monday night as Jimmy and Jey Uso finally agreed to reunite due to the threat of the "new" Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa. The Uso reunion also saw the twins get a bit of revenge on Sikoa's group, fending off an attack that sent The Bloodline scurrying.
Jey's decision to help his family was met by some resistance from his friend, Sami Zayn. Zayn attempted to talk Jey out of going back to a family that had treated him poorly in the past only to be caught talking to Sikoa in the parking lot before the show had come to an end.
CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The Usos reunite and face doubts about Sami Zayn's actions
The Bloodline attacked Jimmy and Jey Uso in the show's opening segment. The Usos had a conversation trying to repair their relationship, with Jey stressing that they would come back together as the individuals they developed into during their time apart. Jey then agreed to come to SmackDown on Friday to meet with Roman Reigns before The Bloodline attacked, eventually being run off by The Usos.
Sami Zayn confronted Jimmy and Jey backstage, with Jey asking to speak to him alone. Zayn begged Jey to not go back to his brother and cousin, saying Jey didn't need to choose the lesser of two evils and could just not get involved with the ongoing Bloodline drama. Jey said that Zayn would never understand because he's not a part of their family, which left Zayn clearly bothered. Jimmy told Jey he would talk to Sami and try and smooth things over, but later in the show he found Zayn speaking to Solo Sikoa in the parking lot, leading to the Usos agreeing that family is all they have.
Raw lacked much meaningful content on Monday night, with the Uso drama being the focal point of the show. We'll have to wait and see what Zayn speaking to Sikoa was all about but it likely was the usual misunderstanding that will lead to the increased isolation of Jey as he turns back to his family. This wasn't a particularly inspiring storyline throughout the evening, but nothing really worked well on the entire show. Grade: C-
What else happened on WWE Raw?
- Sheamus def. Ludwig Kaiser via pinfall with a Brogue Kick.
- Bronson Reed laid out Seth Rollins during a backstage brawl. Rollins was cutting a promo in the ring, saying Reed had awoken something inside himself, when Reed showed up on the Tron. Reed called Rollins out for a fight in the parking lot, which Rollins accepted, even managing to stomp Reed's head on a car hood but was eventually taken out when Reed hit a Death Valley Driver from the inside of a truck onto a pile of boxes.
- The Miz begged R-Truth to help him after last week's attack by The Wyatt Sicks and Final Testament telling Miz that he owed the group loyalty. Truth initially seemed to agree but then dropped Miz with a punch, wished him luck with the Wyatts and said, "You're going to die."
- World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contender Match -- War Raiders def. LWO and New Day via pinfall. Chad Gable ran in late and put Rey Mysterio in an ankle lock, which set up the chaotic finish that allowed War Raiders to punch their tickets to a tag title match.
- Dominik Mysterio def. Damian Priest via pinfall with a roll-up. Priest had dominated the match when Judgment Day ran in to distract the referee and attack Priest. As Priest took out Carlito and JD McDonagh, Mysterio was able to score the roll-up for the win. After the match, Priest hit Mysterio with a Razor's Edge and several chair shots before hitting South of Heaven before the show went off the air.
