WWE SmackDown results, recap, grades: Sami Zayn tags with Jacob Fatu, Jimmy Uso and pins Solo Sikoa again
Zayn, Fatu and Uso overcame Sikoa and The MFTs in the SmackDown main event

Solo Sikoa has plenty of men chasing his United States championship, but he also now officially has a Sami Zayn problem. On Friday's episode of SmackDown, Zayn made his move to the SmackDown roster official before pinning Sikoa for the second time in recent weeks.
A show-opening promo and confrontation led to a six-man tag match in the SmackDown main event, with Zayn teaming with Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso against Sikoa, Tonga Loa and JC Mateo. In the conclusion of a chaotic match, Zayn was the man to score the pin, putting Sikoa down with a Helluva Kick.
Zayn also pinned Sikoa last week, winning a singles match that led to Sikoa and The MFTs coming to Raw for revenge.
Now on the SmackDown roster, Zayn made it clear he was coming for Sikoa's United States title and now holds two wins over the champ.
CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from TD Garden in Boston.
Sami Zayn tags with Jacob Fatu, Jimmy Uso and pins Solo Sikoa
Solo Sikoa and The MFTs opened the show, with Sikoa listing all the men he had "stomped out" in his run with the United States championship. That list included Sami Zayn, Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso. Unsurprisingly, this brought out those men, with Zayn first saying he was officially a member of the SmackDown roster before getting attacked until Uso ran in for a failed attempt at a save and Fatu to finally chase off Solo and his crew. At that point, a six-man tag match was set for the night's main event.
Sami Zayn, Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso def. Solo Sikoa, Tonga Loa and JC Mateo via pinfall when Zayn hit Sikoa with a Helluva Kick. Before the match, Fatu expressed reservations about teaming with Zayn, telling Uso he "doesn't know him like that." By the end of the match, Zayn and Fatu shook hands and shared a quick hug after Zayn picked up the win for the team, the second time in recent weeks that Zayn has pinned Sikoa.
This didn't feel like a particularly meaningful episode of SmackDown, but Zayn is officially on SmackDown and has now pinned Sikoa twice. It's not exactly Zayn chasing a world title as he has made his goal of a world championship reign a staple of his personality and promos, but he is in a top program against a champion and is clearly on a path to a title match with Sikoa sometime in the near future. How things play out with Fatu and Uso also chasing Sikoa remains to be seen, but it was the most meaningful thing coming out of Friday's episode. Grade: C+
What else happened on WWE SmackDown?
- Alexa Bliss def. Piper Niven via pinfall with a schoolboy pin. Before the match, Niven and Alba Fyre made it clear their intentions are to win the women's tag team titles from Bliss and Charlotte Flair. After the match, Niven, Fyre and Chelsea Green beat down Bliss and Flair.
- Nia Jax, Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton came face-to-face backstage. Cargill was looking for a rematch with Stratton when Jax interrupted to tell Cargill to get to the back of the line while she attempts to end Stratton's reign as WWE women's champion. Stratton made it clear she would take them both out in either order.
- Melo Don't Miz def. Fraxiom via pinfall when The Miz hit Nathan Frazier with a Skull-Crushing Finale. Carmelo Hayes had the win locked up for his team when Miz tagged himself in, leaving a stunned Hayes looking on while his partner stole the glory. Later in the night, Miz and Hayes got into a backstage confrontation with Motor City Machine Guns, leading to a match being set for next week.
- Drew McIntyre explained his attack on Cody Rhodes last week. McIntyre explained that he wasn't the bad guy and that it was actually Rhodes who attacked him. McIntyre pointed out that Rhodes put him into the ring post after the match, and it was Rhodes who cleared the commentary desk, clearly meaning to put McIntyre through said table. McIntyre ended by saying when you provoke him, he will do the kind of things a bad guy does before wishing Rhodes a speedy recovery.
- The Street Profits def. #DIY via pinfall after a Montez Ford frog splash on Tommaso Ciampa.
