WWE SmackDown results, recap, grades: Wild tag team brawl results in six-way TLC at SummerSlam
The Wyatt Sicks retained the WWE tag team titles before a wild brawl led to a major addition to SummerSlam

On the same day WWE announced the card breakdowns for the first-ever two-night SummerSlam, the event added a big championship match. The main event of Friday's SmackDown ended by disqualification, allowing the Wyatt Sicks to retain the WWE tag team championship against Andrade and Rey Fenix.
It was the fallout of the match that made headlines, however, as SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis announced a six-team Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match for SummerSlam. The match will pit the defending Wyatt Sicks against Fraxiom, Motor City Machine Guns, Street Profits, #DIY and the team of Andrade and Rey Fenix.
Much of Friday night was also spent paying tribute to Hulk Hogan, the WWE legend who died on Thursday at 71.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Rocket Arena in Cleveland.
Wild tag team brawl results in six-way TLC at SummerSlam
WWE Tag Team Championship – Andrade & Rey Fenix def. The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) (c) via disqualification after interference from Nikki Cross. Andrade had the match won after hitting The Message on Lumis, but Cross pulled the referee from the ring as she was making the count, resulting in the DQ.
After the match, Erik Rowan entered the ring and took out Andrade and Fenix. He then took out Fraxiom, and then Motor City Machine Guns. The Street Profits made their way to the ring, and the brawl continued with all of the teams until #DIY joined the fray. A frustrated Nick Aldis announced that if the teams were determined to tear each other apart, they could do it in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match at SummerSlam. The six teams – plus the other members of the Wyatt Sicks – continued to brawl as the show went off the air.
Overall, SmackDown felt like something of a throwaway show, but there is the promise of a wild TLC match at SummerSlam. The Wyatts aren't exactly lighting the world on fire since getting mixed into a deep and interesting SmackDown tag division, but a TLC match promises fireworks and plenty of memorable moments, especially with the various teams that will be involved. SummerSlam has felt like it's missing something, especially as a two-night event for the first time in history, but this should add the right level of chaos to make some memories. Grade: B+
What else happened on WWE SmackDown?
- The show opened with a 10-bell salute to Hulk Hogan followed by a lengthy tribute video.
- Jelly Roll dropped Logan Paul with a Boss Man Slam. Jelly Roll and Paul came face-to-face and traded words until they were joined by Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton. A brawl eventually broke out with McIntyre and Paul getting the best of things until the tables were turned and Jelly Roll got the last word.
- Roxanne Perez def. Alexa Bliss via pinfall with a roll-up. After Raquel Rodriguez interfered at ringside, Charlotte Flair took her out. Rodriguez made her way back and was ready to powerbomb Flair outside the ring before Bliss came off the top rope with a Twisted Bliss. That was enough distraction, however, for Perez to take advantage and roll Bliss up and secure the pin holding both Bliss' tights and the rope.
- Jade Cargill def. Chelsea Green via pinfall with Jaded. Cargill caught Green badmouthing her backstage, leading to an impromptu match. After Cargill won, she was attacked by the Secret Hervice until Tiffany Stratton ran in to make the save.
- Cody Rhodes cut a promo about his SummerSlam match with John Cena. Rhodes said that their street fight wouldn't be about virtue or victory, but about violence. And he wants to get violent with the real John Cena, not the version that currently holds the undisputed WWE championship. The only way Rhodes would know he earned it, he said, was if he faced the version of Cena that wears the title the right way. That would make "the story" real and meaningful.
- Jacob Fatu def. The Miz via pinfall with a pop-up Samoan drop. Miz returned to SmackDown by interrupting Fatu, saying during his time off, he realized he's not a victim or target, he's the main character, before slapping Fatu. Solo Sikoa and the MFTs attacked Fatu after the match before Jimmy Uso made the save, but Sikoa ultimately managed to put Fatu down with a Samoan Spike.
- Zelina Vega confronted Giulia, at which point it was revealed that they would have a rematch for the women's United States championship on next week's SmackDown.
